Rites Wednesday For Retired Farmer, 90
Holman D. Platt, 90, a resident of St. Paul for the past 65 years, died suddenly at his home Sunday at 2:00 p..m.
A retird farmer and a member of the St. Paul Methodist Church, Mr. Platt was born Sept. 23, 1875, in Ripley County, the son of David and Mary (Shane) Platt. On June 7, 1896, he was married to Leona Lewis who preceded in death Jan. 10, 1944. One son, Ralph Platt died in 1941.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Ena Mae Stiffler, Indianapolis, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Platt will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Carmony Funeral Home in St. Paul, with Rev. S. E. Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Fored Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. (Obit: Shelbyville News, May 9, 1966)
