Ted was born Oct. 10, 1930, in Youngstown, a son of Ira Hugh and Florence Mitchell Carter, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a carpenter for 50 years, retiring in 1989, and was a member of Carpenters Union Local No. 171 in Youngstown.
Ted was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.
His wife, the former Donna M. McIntosh Patton, whom he married May 28, 1977, passed away Dec. 5, 2003.
He will be sadly missed by his family, his daughter, Laurie (Mike) Hawkins of Columbus; his son, Mark Carter of Newport Beach, Calif.; stepsons Timothy Patton of Aurora, Ill., Michael (Lynn) Patton of San Jose, Calif, and John Patton of Greenville, S.C.; and six grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; stepdaughter Linda M. Patton; stepson David Patton; his brother, Dale Carter; and his sister, Mary Graham.
Ted will be laid to rest at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
