James F. Costello, III, SPC 'Jamie' baptized and reunited with the Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2006.
Jamie was born on June 28, 1978; beloved son of James F. and Marie R. Costello; cherished brother of Catharine and Robert Costello.
Jamie was fulfilling his calling and defending the country he loved. Pfc. Costello was killed in an explosion on in Taji, Iraq. The Pentagon said an improvised explosive device detonated near their Bradley Fighting Vehicle and they subsequently came under small arms fire.
Also left behind were several aunts and uncles: Peter and Mary Beth Costello of Mt. Kisko, NY, Tom and Christina Costello of Havertown, PA, and his Godfather Matthew and Anne Marie Costello of Rochester, MI, Patricia and Dave Shaw of Delta, CO, Dave and Marlene (Godmother) Rosbach of Oklahoma City, OK.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Catharine Rosbach and James F. and Constance B. Costello.
Jamie also leaves several cherished friends and many cousins. His friends describe him as a very Patriotic, fun-loving and outgoing guy.
Jamie was a graduate of Oakville HS in 1996 where he was a 4-year veteran of the OHS hockey team.
His great devotion and pride in his country gave him conviction to protect us and he is truly our hero. Prior to military service, Jamie was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service for 6 years and last worked at the South County Branch.
