Salt Springs - Susan Jean Pope, 64, of Salt Springs, FL, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. She was an amazing mother, doting grandmother, and friend to all. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Shirley Hladki, and youngest sister, Lorraine Tromner. She raised two beautiful children, Amy E. Smock, and Daniel C. Pope, who will forever miss her beautiful soul.
Susan retired from Bellsouth after 32 years of service and was a Bellsouth Pioneer member. She was also active for many years in the Mandarin Chapter of the W.O.T.M where she was a Past Senior Regent. During her retirement, Susan stayed active within the Salt Springs/Palatka communities where she could be found volunteering her time at the VFW Post #10208 and at the local post office. At the time of her passing, Susan was also President of the Palatka Art League, a place that allowed her love of crafting and her passion for helping others to flourish.
There will be two services held in remembrance of Susan's life and legacy. The first Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on January 10th, at 4983 Harp Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32258. The second service will begin at Noon on January 17th at the VFW, Post #10208; 23498 N.E. Hwy 314, Salt Springs, FL, 32134.
