She was born April 14, 1937, in Naples, the daughter of Owen and Bernice Bentley Hearold. She married Glen E. Riley on June 4, 1954, in Chambersburg, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2011.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Berendes (deceased husband, Chuck Berendes) of Versailles; her son, Kirk (Donna) Riley of Warrensburg; three granddaughters, Camella Berendes of Versailles, and Alyssa and Abbey Riley, both of Warrensburg; three great-grandchildren, Dillon, Chyanne and Austyn; one brother, Dale (Shirley) Hearold of Bluffs; and one sister, Reva Jackson of St. Ann, Missouri. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Clark Travis Berendes; and three brothers, Clyde Hearold, Wilbur "Tag" Hearold, and Ken Hearold (surviving wife, Shirley of North Carolina).
Mrs. Riley and her husband owned and operated Riley's Standard Service Station and Towing in Chambersburg from 1954-2011. She also farmed and raised cattle. She was a member of the Chambersburg Christian Church. Patsy was heavily involved with her community and would do anything for anyone.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Chambersburg Christian Church, with burial at Baylis Cemetery. The family will meet friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Meredosia. Memorials are suggested to Meredosia Fire Department or Chambersburg Christian Church.
