Kenneth Mathis, 73, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014, in Walnut, MS. Funeral services will be Monday, December 1, 2014, at 1:00 pm at Theo Church of Christ, with Charlie Browning and Minister Ron Adams officiating. Interment will be in Camp Ground Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, November 30, 2014, from 5:00 pm until service time on Monday at Theo Church of Christ.


Mr. Mathis was born December 12, 1941, to the late J. V. Mathis and Avis Fiveash Mathis. He was a retired factory worker and a member of the Theo Church of Christ.


He is survived by two sons: Kendal Wade Mathis and Charles Kenneth Mathis, both of Walnut, MS; three daughters: Debbie Ann Mathis Lormendez (Jesus), Teresa Lynn Mathis Hernandez, and Kim Mellisa Mathis Holt (Joe), all of Walnut, MS;12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; one brother: McArthur Rayburn Mathis, Walnut, MS; other relatives and a host of friends.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Polly Ann Mathis; a great granddaughter, Chassidy Cheyanne Zills; and a sister, Mary Kathryn Pattat.


Pallbearers will be Ricky Morphis, Jimmy Tate Waldon, Nathan Zills, Jeff Null, Christopher Mathis, and Johnny Wayne Mathis.
