Dr. Richard Lewis Branyon, 98, died Thanksgiving morning, November 27, 2014.

Dr. Branyon was born November 16, 1916, in Spartanburg, SC, a son of the late Richard Lewis Branyon and Stella Rivers Branyon.

He was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Wofford College and received his Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine from Lincoln Chiropractic School. He operated a successful Chiropractic practice in Greenville for 55 years.

He was for many years a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville and, in more recent years, was a member of Agnew Road Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Thompson Branyon; and a daughter, Ann Branyon.

He was survived by his wife, Doris Addis Branyon of the home; a daughter and son-in law, Peggy and Dennis McKittrick of Greenville; and a granddaughter, Katie (Dan)Scheaffer; and a great-granddaughter, Anna Reese Scheaffer.

Also surviving are Doris's children, Jenene (Larry) Swartz; Lynn (David) Moore; Karen Petty and Mark Petty; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2014, in The Mackey Mortuary Chapel. The Reverend Jeff Miller officiated. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
