Vernon Miller Underwood, 63, died Sunday (November 3rd, 1968) at Howard Memorial Hospital(Biloxi, MS). He was a native of Union, Miss., and a Biloxi resident for four years at 201 St. George.
His survivors include his wife, Julia Fisher Underwood; one son, John (Vernon) Underwood, Biloxi; three daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Dora "Vashti" Underwood) Muse, Starkville, Mrs. Thomas (Fredna Sue Underwood "Corky") Greenlee, Leland, and Mrs. Jimmy (Jean Miller Underwood) Ramsey, Starkville; his mother, Mrs. Maude (Miller Dollar) Underwood, Jackson; two sisters, Miss Laura (*Lora Mae) Underwood, Jackson, and Mrs. T.N. Parks and seven grand children.
The remains were taken from Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi, to Newton County for two o'clock service today at Sebastopol Methodist Church with services by Rev. Prentiss Gordon.
Interment was in White Plains cemetery in Newton County with Finely and Milton Edwards, Keith and Nickie Parks, Bert, Gerald, Julian and Bill Fisher serving as pallbearers.
