Shirley Johnson, 78, of Dover, went to be with her Lord Saturday, November 29, 2014, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She was born November 12, 1936, in Ben Hur, daughter of the late Robert and Iva Standridge Carr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, Ronnie, Junior, Euel and Joe Carr; and a sister, Julie Carr.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Stanley Johnson; 4 sons, Dennis Johnson and wife Pat of Dardanelle, Rob Johnson and wife Robyn of Denton, Texas, Augie Johnson and wife Ruby of Russellville, and Ivan Johnson and wife Mandy of Paris; 2 sisters, Mary Eakin of Hector, and Patsy McCann of Russellville; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 2, at Dover Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Herb Tilley officiating. Burial is in Moore Cemetery in Ben Hur under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday at Lemley Chapel.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
