Rev. Clarence E. Jett of Palmetto, GA, died November 28, 2014. He was born in Knoxville, TN, on July 5, 1914.
He was pre-deceased by his wife of 70 years, Maria Lennon Jett on January 9, 2008.
He is survived by his daughter Rebecca Barge (Leeman) and his son Rev. C. Steven Jett (Patsy); five grandchildren: Holly Corin (Rob), Doug Elliott (Jennifer), Stephanie Nix (Michael), Catherine Youngblood (Todd), and Eddie Jett (Molly); and 12 great grandchildren.
He will be sadly, but gratefully missed by all who knew him.
Rev. Jett served the Lord as an active minister for more than 65 years from Tennessee to Texas, with 40 years in Georgia. He was Pastor Emeritus of the Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church, East Point, GA, where services will be held on Tuesday, December 02, 2014, at 1:00PM, with Rev. Darwin Caldwell and Rev. Mike Woods officiating. The body will lie in state one hour before the service, with family receiving friends from 11:30AM – 1:00PM. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Union City, GA.
The family will receive friends Monday, December 01, 2014, from 5:00PM -8:00PM, at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Missions Offering at Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church, 1150 Jefferson Ave., East Point, GA 30344.
