Cressie A. Pedigo, age 81, of Redding, CA died Monday, January 1, 1996 at the home of a nephew, Ron Allison, Sacramento, CA.

Born September 30, 1914 in Vanoss, OK, she was raised in the Independence community and attended Vinson High School. She moved to California in the mid 1940s, settling in Redding where she owned and operated "Cressie's Barber Shop" until 1972 when she retired after 40 years as a professional barber.

Some of her accomplishments included: organic gardening, airplane pilot, member of Iris Society, blue ribbon hybridizing of iris; Cocker Spaniel trainer, blue ribbon/Grand Champion; photography, antique car restoration, "hard top", Power Puff race car driver, ceramics and tropical fish propagation.

Survivors include a sister, Lille Jenkins of Wellington; sisters-in-law, Edna Allison of Sacramento, CA; Happy Allison of Magalia, CA and Lucille Allison of Gig Harbor, WA; brothers-in-law, Ike Strickland of Ridgeway, MO; Carl Russell of Fullerton, CA, numerous nieces and nephews and her companion, Elfie.
