Eugene Barker, age 66, of Robynwood Drive, Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Sunday, July 29, 2007, at Central Baptist Hospital, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born in Wolfe County, Kentucky, on September 1, 1940, to the late Johnny and Lillian Martin Barker, he was a retired truck driver, a member of Cynthiana Baptist Church and Cynthiana Elks Lodge #438 and a United States Navy veteran.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: two brothers, Charles Thomas Barker and Paul Courtney Barker. He is survived by: his wife, Betty C. Barker; a son, Paul Barker,, of Cynthiana; two daughters, Melissa (Ed) Mutscheller, of Paris, Kentucky, and Vanessa Barker, of Cynthiana; two brothers, Kenny (Joyce) Barker, of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Edward (Kathy) Barker, of Ashland, Kentucky; a sister, Barbara Devers, of Versailles, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Jessica Beagle, Whitney Barker, Tyler Sumpter and Corey Crawley; and four great-grandchildren, T.C., Christopher, Jaydon and Baylee.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ware Funeral Home by Reverend Wayne Spivey. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, with the Elks Memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Kentucky, 250 East Liberty Street, Suite 710, Louisville, Kentucky 40202.
