He was a self-employed home builder for 40 years.
He enjoyed water skiing, going to the lake, traveling and playing softball.
He served in the Marines from 1951 to 1953.
He is survived by his wife, Daryl Jean Scott of Turlock; children, Michael Scott and Brad Scott, both of Turlock, and Catherine Cox of Kelseyville; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Scott.
Burial is pending at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella.
