Funeral services for Anne T. Hamilton will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Reverend Brian Ponder officiating. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hamilton, 93, of Meridian, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014, at her home.

Anne was a veteran of the U.S. Naval Women’s Reserve and served during World War II as a lieutenant junior grade. She graduated from Duke University with a degree in art history. Anne grew up in a military family, traveling around the world and living in such places as Panama and the Philippines before settling in Meridian, where she lived for more than sixty-five years. She was a gifted pianist and a lover of art and literature.

Anne was a devoted and steadfast wife, mother and grandmother, and a patriotic citizen. She was an active member of St Paul’s’ Episcopal Church, a homemaker and business owner who had a positive influence on many lives.

Survivors include: two sons, Robert John Hamilton and his wife Cindy, and David Dunlap Hamilton and his wife Lauretta; a daughter, Gayle Hamilton Yochim and her husband Al, III; four grandchildren, Jennifer Jacob Brown and her husband Cory, David Stuart Jacob, William Kenan Hamilton and Hannah Morgan Hamilton; one great-grandson, Elijah Lee Jacob; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Morgan Hamilton, Sr.; her daughter, Marianne Tobias Hamilton; two sons, William Morgan Hamilton, Jr. and Jeffrey Bryan Hamilton; her sister, Elizabeth Tobias Stansfield; and her brother, Robert Beeghley Tobias, Jr.

The family request memorials are made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Meridian.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Clopton, Bob Covert, Tim Covert, Mike Edgerton, James Hall, John Hamilton, Tom Hamilton and Johnny Johnson.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.
