Jerry Lee Mobley, 58, of Moultrie, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services...held 2 p.m., Saturday, July 10, at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Clinton Clark officiating. Burial...followed in the Blooming Light Baptist Church Cemetery in Mitchell County. The pallbearers...Jerry Mobley, Patrick Williams, Sammy Terrie, Tracy Johnson, Roosevelt Dawson, and Ollie Dawson.

He was born April 3, 1952, in Mitchell County, to George Mobley Jr. and Annie Lee Moreland Thompson. He and his mother moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., in 1958, and he graduated from Plantation High School in 1969. He was a member of New Hope #2, under the leadership of the Rev. E.L. Moreland.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Pierce Mobley; and a sister, Gladys Mobley.

Survivors include his mother, Annie Lee Moreland Thompson of Moultrie; two daughters, Tangela Mobley of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Misty Mobley of Miami, Fla.; two sons, Patrick Mobley of Moultrie and Jerry Mobley Jr. of Miami, Fla.; ten grandchildren, Reginald Harris, Jonathan Patridge, Quanpel King, Unique Mobley, Prophep King, Napoleon Mobley, Tavarian Sanders, Bobby Scott, Habib Mashni, and James Nelson; a great-grandchild, Nowledge Harris; three special aunts, Fannie Mae Long of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Ruby Dean Mobley of Camilla, Ga., and Essie Mae Dawson; four uncles, the Rev. E.L. Moreland, Buster Moreland, Fred Moreland, and K.C. Haynes; a special cousin, Trudie Hill of Moultrie; ex-wife, Geraldine Butts of Moultrie; two special friends, Ora Lee Dennis and Brenda Lee, both of Moultrie; and a host of cousins and friends.
