Charles was born to James Fletcher Burleson and Georgia Fay Smith Burleson on May 5, 1949 in San Angelo, Texas.
He learned to work at a young age working with his parents traveling to carnivals. Charles loved the carnivals and continued to work them until 1989.
In his spare time he would get on Amazon and sale his books, play pool and go to the movies. He spent many hours with his grandchildren telling stories and taking them to the park. They were the joy of his life.
Charles was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and he finally went to his first Cowboy game just this year with seats on the fifty yard line. His only disappointment being that Romo was out and couldn’t play.
Charles loved life and was always ready for a new adventure. Even during his battle with Cancer he fought hard and tried to live every day to its fullest. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty seven years, Cheryl Burleson; mother, Georgia Fay Burleson; daughter, Sondra Burleson Halliday and husband DeWayne; siblings, James Burleson and Roger Burleson; grandchildren, Alexandria Halliday and Henry Halliday; one aunt, Martha Robison along with numerous nieces and nephews.
