Funeral services for Walter F. Notz, 69, former Manitowoc resident,
who died Sunday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Minneapolis,
were at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. at
St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Alfred Pritzl
officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
The Otto Oas Veterans of Foreign Wars Post conducted graveside rites
and members of the post who were pallbearers were Earl Junk, Elroy Karl,
John Franz, Tom Willman, Ozzie Wilda and Paul Erdmann.
Mr. Notz was born Sept. 9, 1895, in the Town of Manitowoc, son of the
late John and Theresa Thomes Notz. He never married. He was a World
War I veteran, having been a private in the 16th Co. of the 16th Depot
Brigade. He moved to Minnesota in 1929 and had retired four years ago.
Survivors are three brothers, Edward, of Two Rivers, John, of Rt. 3,
Manitowoc, and William, of Wausau, a sister, Mrs. Theresa Adelman, of
Rt. 3, Manitowoc, nieces and nephews. Two brothers and four sisters
preceded him in death.
