Kay Richmond Gettys Phillips, 72, resident of 128 Mountain Shore Drive, widow of James Clyde Phillips, died November 26, 2014, at her home.

Born December 21, 1941, in Winnsboro, SC, she was a daughter of Nellie Jacobs Gettys and the late Jasper "Jack" McClair Gettys. She attended Greenwood Public School including Greenwood High School where she played in the marching band and graduated Piedmont Technical College. She was retired from Monsanto.

Mrs. Phillips attended Temple Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother of Greenwood are three sons, James Michael Phillips of the home, Mark Andrew (Kim) Phillips of Hodges and Brian Scott (Debbie) Phillips of Ninety Six; five brothers, Jasper McClair Gettys, III of Wallace, SC, Hugh McMaster (Joyce) Gettys of Elberton, GA, Phillip L. Gettys of Greenwood, David Edward (Jean) Gettys and Keith Marcus Gettys, all of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Zachary Tyler Phillips, Joshua Aaron Phillips and Adam Phillips.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Johnny McDaniel officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 1 to 2 Saturday afternoon.
