William M. Hadden, 77, of Washington, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, in McMurray Hills Manor Nursing Home, McMurray.

He was born on September 17, 1937, in Washington, a son of the late Michael Hadden and Lilly Staley Meyers.

Mr. Hadden first worked for Aero Trucking, before becoming an independent truck driver. He was very proud of his truck-driving career, that spanned fifty-three years.

He was protestant by faith.

Mr. Hadden was a member of the Sunset Lodge #623 F&AM, of Washington, and the Coudersport Consistory. He had been a Fire Chief for many years, at the Taylorstown VFD, where he started the Junior Firefighters Program.

A Boy Scout Master, he enjoyed working with children.

Mr. Hadden served with the U.S. Marine Corps.

In September, 1981, he married Frances Piskura, who survives.

Also surviving, are two sons, Robert E. (Lisa) Coffield, of Washington, and Harold Hadden, of Michigan; a stepson, Thomas (Ann) Fenn, of Nevada; two daughters, Cheryl (James) Bridges, of Ohio, and Ruth MacCauley, of Michigan; a step daughter, Danielle Fenn, of New Hampshire; three sisters, Marge Graham, of West Alexander, Mary (Rick) Davis, of West Finley, and Marcella Meyers, of Spraggs; twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a nephew, Frank O'Dell.

Deceased are a son, John Hadden, and two brothers, Francis McCauley, and Donald Hadden.

Friends will be received on Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014.

Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
