Pearl Rankin McAlpin, 78, of Magee died February 20 at Magee General Hospital following a lengthy illness.
A resident of Simpson she was a member First Baptist Church of Magee.
Services were held February 21 at 2:30 p.m. from First Baptist Church of Magee with Rev. O.C. Ladnier, Rev. Paul Padgett and Rev. Barney Padgett officiating. Burial in Sharon Cemetery and Colonial Chapel of was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Z.B. McAlpin; four daughters, Novis Jones of Brandon, Nevis Womack of Magee, Bonnie Bill Womack of Mendenhall and Betty Jean Ratliff of Petal; three L.C. McAlpin of Magee, A.B. McAlpin of Brandon and Arthur C. McAlpin of Magee; eighteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Rankin of Jackson and Lamar Rankin of Magee; a sister, Lillie Meadows and a host other relatives.
