John A. Burgess. 84. of Rt. 2. North Bangor, died Wednesday, Dec. 12.1979 at Alice Hyde Hospital. Malone where he had been since Oct. 27.
Bom in North Burke, Aug. 9, 1995, he was a son of Paul and Eliizabeth LaPrad Burgess and worked for more than 16 years at Alcoa in Massena before retiring in 1940.
He was twice married. In 1915. he was married m Notre Dame Church to Obeline Yando, he was married to the former Bernadette Lamica in St. Johns Church. Syracuse in April 1942. She survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Rufus of Syracuse and Carlton of Rochester; four daughters. Mrs. Sherman (Mae) Gardner and Mrs. Bernard (Norma) Lamica both or Rochester, and Mrs. Velma Henderson and Mrs. Leo (Beulah) LaFave. both of Malone, two sisters, Miss Florence Burgess of Malone and Mrs. Mae Ottman of Syracuse, grandchildren and 70 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by five brothers, Paul, William, Charles, and Joseph and another in infancy.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine's Church; North Bangor. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery..
