Courtney was born on April 20, 1995 in St. Petersburg, FL to John and Charmaine Carter. She attended Shorecrest Preparatory School from age 4 through 8th grade. She attended and graduated from St. Petersburg Catholic High School in 2013. At the time of her passing, she was a sophomore at Florida State University where she was a Communications Major/Business Minor.
She was a passionate member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She also was an intern for the Mayfield Group Public Relations firm in Tallahassee, FL, and she started Courtney E Carter Media where she has posted close to 100 YouTube videos which are delightful and inspiring. She chronicles her illness and outlook on life in her YouTube video entitled: My Story + Positivity Keep on Keepin On. In this video she states that "God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers." She also states, "It might be a bad day, but it's not a bad life."
She is survived by her parents, her siblings Victoria and Jonathan, her Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority sisters, and by host of family members and friends. Her short life impacted many people.
Visitation will be Friday, November 28 from 5-7 PM with a service at 6:30 PM at the Cathedral of St. Jude located at 5815 - 5th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL. Her Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of St. Jude at 11AM on Saturday, November 29, 2014. The family is using the services of Brett Funeral Home.
