Dr. Joseph T. Pyles, well-known Frederick dentist, Friday observed his sixtieth birthday and received the congratulations of friends.

Dr. Pyles, who is a native of Barnesville, was graduated in 1898 from the Dental Department of the University of Maryland and has been practicing dentistry in Frederick since that time.

He has been treasurer of the Frederick County Dental Society since its organization in 1918.

In 1903 he was married to Miss Charlotte E. Bowers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Edward Bowers.

Dr. and Mrs. Pyles reside on East Third Street (Frederick). They have two children, Miss Elizabeth Pyles of the Frederick High School faculty, and Dr. J. Thomas Pyles, Jr. of the English department of the University of Maryland.
