Martha Sarah Cathey was the daughter of Alexander Cathey of Monaghan and the first wife of Samuel Givens, Sr. who was born in about 1693 in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. They married in about 1718 in Ireland. He died on 22 Oct 1740 in Orange County, now part of Augusta County Virginia.
