Louise Cox Mabery, age 69, died Sunday, April 30, 1995 in Wellington.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 3, 1995 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jesse Rea, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Quanah, and Rev. Steve Ulrey, pastor, officiating.

Pallbearers were Lyn Hurst, Tony Hurst, Duggie Jameson, David Baumgardner, Bill Long and Leamon Bawcom.

Burial was in North Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Louise Cox was born on November 13, 1925 in Bolinger, Alabama to Lilburn F. and Louise G. Knight Cox. She came with her family to the Loco Community of Childress County in 1926. She attended school at Loco and graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1942.

She married R.L. Mabery on December 27, 1952 in Clovis, New Mexico. He died in 1991. They had moved to Wellington in 1952 where she was an office clerk in the FmHA of the USDA in Wellington for over 17 years.

Mrs. Mabery helped organize the Wellington Country Club, serving as its first secretary, treasurer and on the Board of Directors. She had served on the Board of Directors of the Collingsworth County RSVP and was the treasurer of the Rocket House. She was also a member of the Wellington Country Club Ladies Golf Association and the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Robi Lou Mabery of Wellington. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Fred Cox.
