Dr. Larry A. Lowe DDS, 62, of Edwardsville, Ill., formerly of Belleville, Ill., born Dec. 22, 1951, in Peoria, Ill., died at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at his residence. Early in his career, Dr. "Doc" Lowe practiced in Clinton, Ill., and Decatur, Ill. He later settled in Belleville, where he practiced until his retirement in 2005. Larry graduated from the University of Illinois in 1974, and then went on to graduate from the SIUE Dental School in 1977. Doc was a member of Beta Theta Pi and the American Dental Association. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends at his house in the Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. One of his favorite things to do was chilling with his dog and best friend, Shugg. Doc will be remembered by loved ones as a devoted husband, father and friend. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Lowe; parents, Harry D. and Norma E., nee White, Lowe; and a sister, Laura Stone. Surviving are his wife, Sherry, nee Baker, Lowe, whom he married on Jan. 12, 1999, in Puerto Rico; daughter, Megan Millner and husband John of Lombard, Ill.; son, Ryan Lowe of DeKalb, Ill.; stepdaughter, Angela Obrecht of Zeigler, Ill.; stepson, JR Obrecht and wife Erika of Edwardsville; brother, James Lowe and wife Libby of Alpharetta, Ga.; three step-grandchildren; step great-grandson; and several nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.Memorials may be made to Family Hospice of Belleville.Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home, Edwardsville, Ill. According to his wishes, he will be cremated and a burial will be held at a later date in the Linwood Cemetery in Pana, Ill.
