Lillie Ruth Randolph, age 85, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 15, 2005 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born April 1, 1920 in Greenville, Missouri, the daughter of Phillip and Edna Buckingham Joplin. She graduated from Greenville High School and Baptist Teacher’s College in Bolivar, Missouri.
On June 21, 1942, she married Houston Max Randolph in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1983.
Ruth taught school at Fremont and Greenville Schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Carrollton, Missouri.
Ruth is survived by four children; Sandra Anderson and husband Ray, South Elgin, Illinois, Roberta Kimes and husband Gary, Bonita Springs, Florida, Houston Max Randolph, Jr. and wife Marla, Carrollton, Missouri and David S. Randolph and wife Cindy, Carrollton, Missouri; seven brothers and sisters, James Joplin, Charles Orin Joplin and Bob Joplin, all of Ellsinore, Missouri, Mary Ellen Karshall, Orland Park, Illinois, Irene Gravatt and husband Vernon, Arlington, Texas, Shirley Harkins and husband John, Benziona, Michigan and Ester Sartin and husband Lyle, Camas, Washington; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Ruth was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Wayne and Howard.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton, with Pastor Jeff Maxwell officiating. Burial was in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation was from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
The family suggests contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Carrollton in memory of Mrs. Randolph. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.
