Glenn grew up in the Aurora area, he graduated from Starmont High School with the class of 1967. Glenn served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict aboard the USS Enterprise.

Glenn was united in marriage to Connie Goedken on June 12, 1976, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lamont, Iowa. To this union were born four children: Kim, Chris, Michelle and Shawn.

Glenn worked at Corn Blossom in Independence, Iowa, then Paris Grain in Masonville, Iowa, and for the past 20 years worked as a supervisor for Exide Technologies in Manchester, Iowa, retiring in May, 2014. He and Connie also owned and operated their farm southeast of Aurora.

They were members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lamont and he was a longtime member of the Aurora American Legion. He loved his Iowa Hawkeyes, fishing with his Navy buddies every summer in Minnesota, planting flowers, feeding wild birds, playing card games (500 and Euchre) with his card clubs and family, Casino road tripping with Shawn, enjoying campfires with family, attending grandchildren activities, and most recently painting, staining, and remodeling their home. He was especially proud of his Navy service on the USS Enterprise where he met and formed his lifelong friendships with his Navy brothers: Bill, Barry, and Duane.

He died at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three sisters: Linda, Laura, and Kathy.

Survivors are his wife, Connie of Aurora, IA; two daughters: Kim and Michelle; two sons: Chris Curtis and Shawn Curtis; seven grandchildren; three brothers: Mike (Mary) Curtis of Cedar Rapids, Rich (Barb) Curtis of Ely, IA and Andy (Brenda) Curtis of Lamont; two sisters: Sharon (Don) Vaske of Strawberry Point, IA and Karen (Larry) Glass of Arlington, IA; his three special Navy brothers: Barry (Donna) Padelford, Bill (Linda) Stopfel, and Duane Duea; and many nieces, nephews, and other friends.
