Greg A. Abel, 50, of Fremont died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at his home.
He was born Jan. 4, 1960, in Fremont. He grew up in Fremont and moved to Ainsworth where he graduated from Ainsworth High School. He then returned to Fremont. He had previously been employed at Fremont Monument Co. for more than 20 years.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include: a son, Trey Abel of Omaha; a stepson, Jeremy Frink of Omaha; his parents, Bill W. and Elizabeth Abel of Fremont; a brother, Jeffrey Scott Abel of Fremont; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter.
The memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Greg Hall officiating. There is no visitation, however, friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to the Dodge County Humane Society.
