Excerpt from
The Hilton Family of Albany, New York, by Lewis Parker Abell, 1936
A typescript filed with the New York State Library

John Burgess Hilton, second son of Robert & Elizabeth (Burgess) Hilton, ... married, probably in 1810 or 11 [[ 25 Dec 1809 ]], Hannah, b. Dec. 6, 1789, daughter of Andrew and Jane (Davis) Ostrander. The parents of his wife, formerly of Albany, probably came to Canada with a party of "United Empire Loyalists" soon after the revolution, and it appears natural that he should have directed his course toward the same settlements.

============================

Marriages of Rev. Harmanus Van Huysen, 1794-1825 : minister of the United Dutch Reformed Congregations of Helderberg (Guilderland), Jerusalem (Feura Bush) and Salem (New Salem), Albany County, New York, from 1794 to 1825

25 December 1809
John Hilton, Son of Robert of Bethlehem, and Hannah Ostrander, Daughter of Andrew of Guilderland.
