James worked for John Deere in Moline and Milan for 31 years before retiring to his farm near Mt. Sterling. He enjoyed hunting, fishing in his pond and listening to Johnny Cash.
Surviving are two sons, Jimmy Bell of Durant and Matthew Bell of Mt. Sterling, two daughters, Kathy Hoggard(Robby)of Durant and Theresa Bell of Cumberland, MD, two step sons, Jay Bjork(Jennifer)of Auburn, IL and Joel Bjork(Stephanie)of East Moline, IL, a step daughter, Jane Hill(Jerry)of Silvis, IL, ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 am Friday November 28, 2014 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Pastor Mike Shea officiating. Visitation with family present will be from 10-11 am Friday prior to the service. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua. Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 27183 Lark Ave., Mt Sterling, IA 52573.
