At his residence in the town of West Bend on Friday, February 10 th , 1882 after nearly a year’s suffering HENRY BOHN, Esq., in the 73 rd year of age.


The deceased was born in Rheinpfalz, Bavaria, October 20, 1809; was married in 1833 to Miss Catherine Mueller of the same place. He immigrated with his family to America in 1855 and came directly to the town of West Bend where he purchased the farm on which he lived continuously to the time of his death. The deceased leaves a widow and five children – Elizabeth, wife of Mr. Michael Gayhart of Appleton; Catherine, wife of Mr. John Wittemann of West Bend; Anna Maria, widow of the late Mr. Frank Lorenz of West Bend; Henry, who resides on the old homestead; and Caroline, wife of Mr. Nicholas Lorenz of California – 2 sons having died in their childhood. Mr. Bohn was a man of very quiet and industrious habits, accumulated a comfortable competence and was very much respected among all his acquaintances for honesty and uprightness of life. His funeral from the Catholic church in the village of West Bend, of which he was a devout and practical member, on Monday last was one of the largest ever seen here. Mr. Bohn was brother of Messrs. Peter (#121703464)and Joseph (#139251649) Bohn of Polk and of Mrs. Elizabeth Bauer (#139224662) of West Bend and Mary Homel of Detroit.

Was married, Jan. 13, 1831, to Miss Catharine Mueller, daughter of John and Elizabeth Mueller ; they have had seven children of whom five are living-Eliza, now Mrs. M. Gayhart, of Appleton, Wis.; Catharine, now Mrs. John Wittemann, of the town of West Bend ; Anna Mary, now Mrs. F. Lorenz, also of West Bend ; Henry, Jr., married to Izora E. Wright, daughter of George W. Wright, Jan. 30, 1872, and resides in the town of West Bend. Mr. Bohn, Sr., came to America with his family in 1854, and located in the town of West Bend. Henry Bohn, Jr., and wife have three children-Henry, Frank J, and Charles G. in the spring of 1881, he was elected a member of the Board of Supervisors for the town of West Bend.
