Discrepancies in above obituary:
Annie's age of 36 years may be incorrect. Annie's husband was Archibald M. Mayberry and both were imprisoned at San Quentin in February 1896 for 1 year for burglary in San Mateo County, California. Annie in indexed twice in correctional records as Jenny M Mayburry and Annie M Maybarry, age 25, born in Pennsylvania. If born circa 1871 she was about 28 years old at time of death.
Annie's maiden name was Sample confirmed by California death records of both children. Annie had two known siblings. Maggie Sample Seibert, wife of Daniel J Seibert, who died 19 Mar 1898 in San Francisco and Robert Sample. Maggie's obituary lists both Annie and Robert as her siblings.
Children:
Onita Viola Mayberry
b. 1 Feb 1894* [per California Death Index]
1m. Arnold Joseph Hess, Jr [md 1913, divorced 1937]
2m Edward C Knackstedt [md 1940]

*Per The San Francisco Call newspaper of 7 Jan 1902, Onita V Mayberry, was age 11 years when admitted to the Maria Kip Orphanage in San Francisco, which would indicate a birth year of about 1891.
Onita had no known children though obituary lists her Knackstedt stepchildren as though hers.
