Arthur V. Dreiling, 61, Ransom, died April 28, 1996 in Ransom. He was born Feb. 8, 1935 in Hyacinth to Richard and Barbara (Pfeifer) Dreiling.

He married Rose M. Waldschmidt on June 8, 1961 in Hays. She died Oct. 13, 1989.

He worked for American Byproducts, formerly Kippes Rendering, Ellis, for many years. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include a stepson, Joe Beer, Ellis; a stepdaughter, Rebecca McDonald, Ellis; four brothers, Ralph, Harry, and Clarence, Hays, and LeRoy, Lyons; a sister, Betty Madison, Blue Springs, Mo.; three step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, John Beer in 1995.

Services were May 1 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father Galen Long officiating; burial in the church cemetery. Wasinger Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the church or to the Alcoholics Anonymous Association of Ellis County.
