MELVIN KENNEDY

Services were held in the Miles Funeral Home for Melvin E. Kennedy, 80, who died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 1963 in the Hancock County, Home.

Mr. Kennedy was a butcher for the Findlay Provision Company. He was formerly employed by the Karg Meat Market.

Born April 7, 1883 in Cannonsburg, he was the son of James and Susan (Oman) Kennedy. On July 13, 1905, he married Emma Gossman and she expired on July 24, 1918. Melvin Kennedy married for a second time on October 10, 1924, to Edith (Heistand) Brown. Edith also preceded Melvin in death.

Melvin is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Zelma Kisseberth, Route 1, Ottawa; Miss Iona Kennedy, Route 1, Ottawa; Mrs. Clova Peterson, Route 3; Mrs. Anna Dell, Tiffin; a son Marvin Kennedy, Benton Ridge; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Rupright, Arlington; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Eight brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Dr. O E. Johnson officiated with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.
