Kelly Day, 67, of Auburn died Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Miller's Merry Manor in Garrett.

Kelly was born March 13, 1947, in Hazard, Kentucky to Willie F. and Sally (Eversole) Day.

He worked as the mill operator for several rubber companies including, Bauman-Harnish Rubber Company for 19 years, and Maverick Molding Inc. in Garrett where he later retired in 2004, after 12 years of service.

He was a member of the Harbor of Love Baptist Church in Kendallville. He loved hunting, fishing, spending time at his church and was a huge dog lover.

He married Sylvia Hartman on July 3, 2009 in Garrett and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Tony Day of Auburn; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa A. and Cris Davis of Garrett; two granddaughters, Courtney Carper and her husband, Kyle, and Megan Davis; a great-granddaughter, Tessa Sue Carper; three brothers, Charles Day and his companion, Sara Cook, of Auburn, Denny Day and his wife, Sandra, of Garrett, and Timothy Day and his wife, Vickie, of Avilla; and four sisters, Kathleen Hunter and her husband, Otis, of Garrett, Bernice McCosh and her husband, Mark, of Garrett, Linda Barnett and her husband, Jack, of Garrett, Rebecca Day of Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Elmer Day; a granddaughter, Kierston Day, and his former wife, Sharon "Sue" Day.

Services will be 12 noon Friday November 28, 2014 at the Harbor of Love Baptist Church, 2353 S. Lima Road, Kendallville, with Pastor Charlie Mosley officiating. Burial will take place in Corunna Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service from 10 to 12 Friday at the church.
