CARRIGAN Jane Kathleen
Age 88 of 3005 Watkins Road Horseheads, NY formerly of Elmira, NY passed away on December 4, 2007 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center.

Jane was born October 19, 1919 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Henry Kenneth Carrigan and Sophia Amelia Nitz Carrigan. She was also pre-deceased by her brother and sister-in-law Henry K. & Catherine "Kay" Carrigan Jr., her nephew David Carrigan, and her cousin Marguerite M. (Mrs. Joseph) Gwin.

Jane was a life-long member of The First United Church of Christ and a member of The Morning Guild at Church. She was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy and Elmira Business Institute. Jane began her career as a secretary with AAA and worked at Remington Rand until 1965. She then worked as a secretary for Elmira City Manager Sanford and retired as City Court Stenographer for Judge Lawless. Jane was a member of The National Secretary's Association and Beta Sigma Phi. She volunteered at The Soup Kitchen in Elmira for many years. Jane loved her family and friends and cherished the time she spent with them.

Jane is survived by her nephews: Kenneth Wayne & Linda Carrigan of Corning, NY and Henry Michael & Debbie Carrigan of Lakeland, Florida; grand nieces and grand nephews: Tina & Charles Arcovio and their children Sonya, Stacey, and Kevin of Kentucky; Kaylee Carrigan and her son Joshua Carrigan of Elmira, NY; Brian Carrigan and his children Katie Lou Carrigan and Connor Carrigan of Elkland, PA; several cousins and a host of caring friends including her cousins Sally J. Gwin of Horseheads, NY; David & Faith Gwin of Alden, NY; Robert & Donna Gwin of Delanson, NY and their families.

It was Jane's wish that there be no prior calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jane's Funeral Services on Friday December 7, 2007 at 1 PM at The First United Church of Christ 160 Madison Avenue Elmira, NY with Pastor Jane Winters officiating. Jane will be laid to rest next to her beloved parents in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, NY. Those wishing may remember Jane through memorial contributions to The First United Church of Christ 160 Madison Avenue Elmira, NY 14901. Arrangements are entrusted to the Lynch Funeral Home 318 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY.
