Lula "Lou" Roach

"Lou" Roach, daughter of Minnie & Joe Peterson passed away January 14, 2015. She was born Sept 14, 1927 in Seville, FL.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Clinton Roach, and by her only son, Larry Roach.

She was the oldest of 11 children, 7 girls and 4 brothers, 3 of the brothers now deceased. She leaves behind 2 daughters, Sandra Chennault (Bob), and Donna Landall (Larry), 9 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren.

She was a member of The Sanctuary in DeLand and her childhood roots go back to McGlon church in Seville. She was always a good sport and enjoyed playing volleyball and snow sledding in her younger years in Oak Ridge, Tenn. She worked at GE in Daytona and enjoyed traveling to Germany several times to do work there. She and her sisters had great fun on their road trips to Pigeon Forge, she loved her trips to Nashville. She loved to garden and cook, and being a very talented seamstress, she sewed most of her children's clothes when they were little and made many beautiful quilts that she lovingly gave away. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 16th from 6-8pm at the Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17th at 10am at the Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand. Burial will follow at the Methodist Cemetery in Pierson.
