Patsy Lovera Shearer Finley, age 86, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in Ft. Worth.
She was born on October 20, 1928 in Mason Texas, to Otis Shearer and Emma Helen Miller Shearer where she was raised among her large family and friends.
She attended Howard Paine University in Brownwood, Texas and Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. She received her degree in Education and taught school in San Angelo, Texas. While teaching in San Angelo, she met her soul-mate of 56 years, William R. "Bill" Finley. Together they traveled the world with their family. She lived in Japan, California, Colorado and Texas. Life was full of road trips to the majestic Colorado Rockies where she instilled her love of God's creations in her children. No matter where her family roamed, her heart belonged in Mason, Texas, and upon Bill's retirement, there, in the Heart of Texas, they made their home. Patsy was always involved in many family activities from a Den Mother in Cub Scouts, a Girl Scout leader, a Sunday school teacher, but most of all, a loving wife, devoted mother, and a doting Memama to her grandchildren. Patsy was passionate about serving Jesus and her church activities. She provided encouragement and loved those around her, especially through her work at church mentoring young women. She also enjoyed China painting and spending time at the ranch and in Colorado with her husband Bill, and often, her grandchildren.

Patsy raised three children, Becky Finley and Sarah Finley Mahand, who both pursued careers as school teachers and Jim Finley.
Patsy is preceded in death by her husband Bill and her daughter Sarah Mahand.
She is survived by her daughter Becky Finley and son Jim Finley, daughter-in-law Charlotte Finley, and son-in-law William Mahand. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nathan Mahand and his wife Kristen, Ryan Mahand, Ashley Finley, Amber Finley and Austin Finley along with many loving nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends.
