Russell Kent Perry SR “Rooster”, 56, of Jacksonville FL went home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2014.
Russell was born on November 23, 1957 in Jacksonville FL to Joseph and Ona Lee “Bootsie” Perry.
He worked for Oaklane Dairy for the past 20 years and also worked for Dinsmore Feed and Supply and Apex Auto. Russell was a loving father, brother, son and friend to many. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off of his back, loved to make people smile and hard worker. He was also involved in raising Greyhounds as animals were his passion and earned him the beloved name “Dr. Doolittle”.
He is survived by his son; Russell Kent Perry Jr, daughter; Denise Lena Bledsoe, brothers; Ronald Preston Perry and Donald “Duck” Ryan Perry, sister; Linda Carol Perry, aunts; Peggy Shamp and Violet, grandsons; Austin and Matthew Bledsoe, granddaughter; Katie Perry, loving friends; Dale and Lisa Hanson and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday November 15, 2014 from 6-7 pm at the Nassau Funeral Home the service beginning at 7:15 pm with Dale and Lisa Hanson officiating.
