Clinton Dale Heck, 78, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at his home.

Born July 29, 1924, in Morristown, he was the son of Clinton D. and Goldie Ann (Hauk) Heck. He married Dorothy B. "Dottie" Heck on Aug. 7, 1947, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 1998.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Rich (Carolyn) Cottrell of Virginia; three sons, David Eads and Michael Herndon, both of Shelbyville, and John Eads of Cleveland, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Lowell Heck and Harold Heck, and one sister, Adeline Brown.

Mr. Heck retired in 1964 from the U.S. Air Force.

He was a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 2690 and member of American Legion Post No. 70, U.S. Air Force Annual Orientation Group Reunion, and Shelby County Bowling Association. He retired in 2002 as secretary of the bowling association, after five years of service.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, with military rites conducted by local veterans organizations.
