Mark Anthony Cobb, 39, of Bolt, departed this life on Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at the Haywood Medical Center in Maggie Valley, NC. Mr. Cobb was the owner and operator of D&M Trucking, a U.S. Army veteran, Private First Class, and a member of the Lacoma Missionary Baptist Church.

He was born July 15, 1964, in Painesville, Ohio, a son of George Leslie Cobb (B. 1933) and Rosa Wanda Lusk-Cobb (1938-2018) of Cyclone.

Preceding him in death was one sister, Karen Sue Cobb-Paugh (Deceased), and one niece, Erin Mikel Cobb (1979-1989).

In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife of 10 years, Moniqueca Dawn Cooke-Shorter-Cobb; one stepson, D.J. Shorter, at home; one daughter, Amy Nicole Cobb of Oceana; one brother, Jerry Cobb & wife Sandra Cobb of Oceana; one sister, Judy Ann Cobb (1960-2006) of Cyclone; two nieces, Melody Paugh and Miranda Paugh, and one nephew, Stacey Cobb.

Services will be conducted at at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003, at the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Doc Adkins and Rev. Jackie Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
