Born June 9, 1935, in Marion County, Mo., Martha was the daughter of Oliver and Bessie Hoke Davis.
Martha was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, watching western movies and TV shows. In her younger years she liked to bowl. Martha was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan and Chicago Bears football fan. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Martha was employed at Good Samaritan Home as a beautician for many years until her retirement.
Survivors include two daughters, Tracey Hadsell (Robert Jr.) of Ashland, Mo., and Kimberly Pickle of Quincy; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Ralston (Brad), Shannon McCoy (Stacy), Bobby Hadsell III (Suzie), Bethany Hadsell, Alex Burkett, Joshua Humke, Lenzie Pickle and McKenzie Pickle; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Davis (Nancy) of Durham, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Lewis "Skeeter" Burgtorf Jr. and Mark Wayne Burgtorf; a grandson, Lance Kinyon; four brothers Charles, Pearl, Kenneth and Leroy Davis; and four sisters, Lily Spratt, Violet Foltz, Neva Bradfield and Nedra Davis.
SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, with Monsignor Michael Kuse officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, and Wednesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
