Ralph attended Maysville High School and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1946. He then received his commercial pilot’s license and joined the Air Force Reserves. He spent 13 months in Korea and was discharged in 1952. In 1963, Ralph joined the Army National Guard and was discharged April 2, 1988 at the age of 60 after 31 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lois Steiner Hutchcraft; and brother, Russell Barton.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian, Gainsesville; adopted son, Forrest Barton, Newport, Wash.; two brothers, Robert Barton (Idella), Maysville, Mo.; and Dean Barton (Betty); several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2014 at Bram-Turner Funeral Home with burial in Union Star Cemetery.
