Jean Jones, 86, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away, Friday evening, November 14, 2014 at Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, Missouri.
Jean was born on September 26, 1928 in Green City, Missouri to Bernie C. and Georgia Ruth (Dehm) Koenig.
On August 15, 1946 in Green City, she married Sam Drummond and two sons; Bernie and Gary were born to this marriage.
She later married Norman Jones on February 24, 1979 and he preceded her in death on November 28, 1996.
Her parents also preceded her in death. .
Survivors include: two sons, Bernie and wife Vicky Drummond of St. Charles, Iowa, and Gary and wife Janet Drummond of Green City, MO; two stepsons, Howard Jones of Kirksville and Virgil and wife Debbie Jones of Kirksville; four grandchildren, Larry and wife Janet Drummond, David Drummond, Laura Avant, and Dionne and husband Dr. Andrew Grabowski; five step-grandchildren, Ryan Jones, Melissa Auston, Brandi Jones, Tim Jones, and Tom Jones; two great grandchildren, Grant and Griffin Grabowski; and eight step-great grandchildren.
Jean grew up in Green City and had lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Ottumwa, Iowa before returning to Kirksville. She was a nurse' aide in nursing homes and hospitals for many years. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Jean enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and fishing. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City with Virgil Jones officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, east the Green City.
