Paul Anthony Rooney, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, and a resident of Monroe since 2001, died on May 3, 2014. He was 92 years old.
He was a former insurance executive, having worked as a manager for the Sentry Insurance Group and as president of Rooney-Herndon and Associates, Inc. an insurance firm in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prior to his retirement, he was a Bank Examiner for the State of Louisiana. He was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. A Veteran of World War II, he attained the rank of Major, and was a former Mason and a Shriner.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, five children. , seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd, Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 11:00 am for family and close friends.
