Mr. Obie Thomas Head, Jr., age 80, of Douglasville, GA, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007. He was born January 9, 1927 in Montgomery, AL.

Mr. Head was a Pressman for over 46 years and was employed with the Montgomery Advertiser and the Atlanta Journal Constitution where he retired. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Pray's Mill Baptist Church. Mr. Head loved electronics and received several patents in this field.

He was a ham radio operator and instructor, did woodworking, loved to cook, and loved gospel music.

He is survived by his wife Lavada Head of Douglasville, GA; sons, Gary and Jean Head of Prattville, AL, David and Pam Head of Montgomery, AL, Paul Head of Douglasville, GA; daughters, Karien Anderson of Panama City, FL, Renata and Jerry Carlisle of Wetumpka, AL, Carla and Robert Hungate of Douglasville, GA; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl and Miriam Head of Montgomery, AL; sister, Sarah Mae Head of Montgomery, AL; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 14, 2007 from 5-7 p.m. There will be a graveside service on Friday, June 15, 2007 at 1pm in the Rosehaven Cemetery, with Rev.
