Vera Mae Brockmeier

Vera May Brockmeier, age 90, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Missouri. Vera was born October 26, 1917 in Wynoka, Oklahoma, the daughter of Milo B. and Mable (Andrus) Meek. She attended country schools. She married John Henry Brockmeier on October 27, 1938 in Carrollton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1981. Vera was the Head Cook and Dietician for the Carrollton R-VII School District for thirty years. She was a member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge for a number of years. Vera is survived by five children, Carroll Brockmeier, Carrollton, Missouri, Donnie Brockmeier, Springfield, Missouri, Juanita Hertzog, Holden, Missouri, Danny Brockmeier, Carrollton, Missouri, Patricia Petet, Waverly, Missouri, fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and one daughter-in-law, Dee Brockmeier, also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Terry Allen Meek officiating. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri. Visitation will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions be made to the Carrollton United Methodist Church or H.E.L.P. Services Cancer Fund in memory of Mrs. Brockmeier.
