Max Phillips was born November 10, 1927 in Palmyra, MO to Hubert and Edna Phillips. Max and his family moved to Phoenix when he was 10 years old. He attended Glendale High School and spent time raising cane in Glendale with his brothers Pete, Donald, Jay, Joe and John. Max
married and had four children Vicki, Heidi, Toni and Jay, with their mother Jeanne Rae Standiford. Max was a Merchant Marine, Maricopa County Sheriff, Motorcycle Division and worked over 30 years at Mallco Distributors. He received a Million Mile Safe Driver Award twice and was the Operations Manager when he retired at the age of 62. Max lived over 20 years with his longtime companion Laura Lee Jensen. She was at his bedside at the time of his passing. Max is survived by his brothers Pete, Joe and John; his son Jay (Kerry); his daughters Heidi (Bob) Marsh, Toni (Gary) Rohlwing; eight grandchildren Matt, Adrienne, Ryan, Brittney, Cody, Chelsea, Brady and Makensie; one great-grandchild Emma and his loving companion Laura. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Thursday, April 7, 2005 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave. Glendale, AZ. The Graveside Service will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 8, 2005 at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern Ave. Glendale, AZ.
