John Franklin Kline, age 71, of Madisonville, Tennessee, formally of Danville, Pennsylvania, passed away 4:10 A.M. Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital, Maryville, TN from mesothelioma cancer. He is the son of Daisy Bitler Carr and the late Leonard F. Kline. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and he retired as Director of County of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
In addition to his mother, Daisy, he is survived by his wife, Shirley Dawn Kline. A daughter, Connie Davis and her boyfriend, Darrell Dill, of Millsboro, Delaware. A son, Gary Kline and his wife, Ann, of Inwood, West Virginia. A son, John Kline and his wife, Wendy, of Matlacha, Florida. 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Sisters and brother-in-laws, Gloria and Donald Hans, Barbara and Carl Minnick, all of Danville, Pennsylvania; Janet and Gary Gemberling, of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania; Nancy Carr, of Monroe, North Carolina; Eileen and Tim Hettinger, of Sunbury, Pennsylvania. A brother, Robert Carr and his wife, Cathi, of Kilmarnock, Virginia. Several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 3, at Heritage Heights Apartments in Danville, PA with Pastor Brian Biesel officiating. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, TN.
